A Prayer for a Father’s Mental Health

Heavenly Father, please mend what is broken within my father, lifting the heavy burdens of mental illness and bringing light into his darkness. Grant him, and our family, the strength to face each day with courage and hope. 

I pray for wisdom, for patience and for guidance. Surround him with your protection, and let him feel your love and compassion even in his darkest moments. 

In the name of Jesus, I ask this. Amen.

A Prayer for An Addicted Father

Dear Lord, we come to you and we pray for all those who are  struggling tonight, especially my father. Please be with each person who is struggling with addiction to weed, pills, powder and liquor. Lord, we know we must take the first step and ask for help. Lord, please give my father  the courage to face his problems and have a strong desire to change.

Please bring hope…give a vision of what life can be like for a person freed from pain and addiction. Lord, for every need spoken or unspoken… and you know them all, we pray. Amen.

A Prayer for An Abusive Father

Lord, You know better than anyone else how difficult and abusive my father has been  towards me and others as well. You know the suffering, pain and ridicule that I had to endure at his hands, for so many years.

I am sad because we were not able to have the sort of loving relationship that a child should have with his father. 

Forgive my father Lord,  and help me to forgive him as well, truly to forgive him and not to hold any resentment against him, for I know that is destructive to me and everyone around me. 

Forgive my father Lord and heal him. Amen. 

A Prayer for a Father in Prison

Father, in the Name of Jesus, thank you for loving me and my father who is serving time in prison. Lord, please help my father repent by admitting what he did wrong and doing all he can to make up for it. God, thank you for being the great Comforter. Please send your supernatural comfort and strength to my father right now. Amen. 

A Prayer for a Father Who Isn't Around

"Heavenly Father, I give  my father to You. I ask that You soften his heart to turn towards You. Help me to forgive him for the pain his absence has caused. I pray for healing in my own heart to overcome the wounds of the past. Bring reconciliation, Lord, and strengthen us both to move forward, restoring what was broken. In Jesus’ name, Amen".
